Peter Jackson's 'King Kong' was a true epic. Not as much as, let's say, Lord of the Rings, but it was great piece of cinema. It wasn't too long - The first hour was an examination of the characters; the sweet and innocent damsel in distress; and the no conscience film director, who will trample on anything in his way. For people who just wanted to see a gorilla smash some stuff up and kill loads of people then sure they're gonna be dissapointed because King Kong is alot more intelligent than that. It gives the audience credit; assuming that alot of people will find an emotional link to the poor creature that is 'King Kong'. However give credit to an audience; think that they have the slightest bit of intellect and you'll be wrong and they'll think your movie is boring or pick some hole in it, that isn't actually there. I have to retort on what someone said a few comments ago about how the girl screams 'don't kill him' because he destroys the city. You're an idiot! He's a bloody great big gorilla, who's been taken away from his home and he's pi ssed about it. The film shows that the humans are the monsters, not Kong. He has more humanity in him than the humans do. The movie is a love story between Kong and the girl; beautifully told, in a grand, epic way using the best of technology has to offer. 10/10.

It was way too long. It could easily have been an hour shorter. If you want to see King Kong, get the original black and white one. It might not look as spectacular as the new one, and the acting is a bit more over the top, but it's a classic.

I hated King Kong. It was just Peter Jackson trying to show off. Now that he won an Oscar, he thinks he's the greatest. Kong was over the top and could've shed an hour and a half. By the time the end came, I didn't care.

I thought it was an ok job done on it. Great SFX, liked the bit with thhe insects on the island, but the ending with her going overboard with her love for King Kong was just creepy, bordering on beastiality (i almost called the RSPCA!)

I thought the recent King Kong movie was really long and boring. It wasn't a good movie, especially if your at the drive ins and your sitting outside your car. In winter. ...freezing...

I though it was good, it just missed the spark of the lord of the rings films and there were quite a few loose ends here and there.

I liked it but at the same time it made me mad. i don't get why the girl was yelling "no don't hurt him" and he was killing the whole city!!! That was pathetic. And was she in love with King Kong or what?
