i am not a morning person, in fact, i stay up all night long. i live in a trailor park and my neighbor (who lives right behind me) has about 7 or 8 roosters. they make noise all thru the night. they continue to make noise thru the day as well, what should i do?? i thought about calling animal control, but im not that kind of person. i would rather shoot the roosters and have me a good dinner. they drive me nuts when im trying to sleep, they drive me nuts when im wide awake at 3 in the morning. what the hell are these roosters making noise for at three in the goddamn morning?!!! what should i do?--call animal control, call the cops, or just shoot them and offer the neighbors a plate?

Well I'd try calling animal control 1st. Few dead roosters not worth going to jail for. Then who would eat your chicken?

You're keeping your sense of humour about it, that's the idea.
I grew up in a rural area near a train line.
To this day I love the sound of roosters and shunting trains in the night.
Makes me feel very secure.
I now live in an area close to a highway on the coast, so I get the truck noise but in the dead of night can also hear the waves breaking on the beach.
By council law we cannot have chickens on our own property.
Back to your problem, there must be noise pollution regulations in your area.
I would make a complaint to the local council, this stays anonymous.
Actually I'm amazed nobody has complained thus far, sleep deprived people make cranky neighbours.

I guess you should just call animal control

Before you go to the authorities, would not a quiet word with your neighbour be appropriate ? Explain the problem, and see if you can't come to some amicable arrangement.
Talk to other neighbours and get their views. If this guy can be made to see that he is upsetting folk, he may decide to get rid of the darn things. They must be keeping him up as well.
If he won't cooperate, look to the authorities to see if he is allowed to keep livestock. If not - there is an answer.
If he is, and they are causing a nuisance, this can be dealt with, especially if several neighbours complain.
Taking the law into your own hands is a one way ticket to the slammer.

well that's what they do, however you can file a noise complaint with the city, and then the city must take action, its a formal complaint and if you can get some more people in the place where you live, a petition they will have them remove the noise, there is a law or noise ordnance in all city's, it can be at anytime of the day not only at quit times OK good luck

Are there zoning restrictions concerning the keeping of livestock in your city? If so, then they are breaking the law. Call you city government and complain.
