I have been out of work for 19 months since the beginning of that time i have been suffering with depression but now its under control I am looking for something in catering and most people wont give me the time off day as i have been out of work for so long.

Try going through temp agency...it can ease you back into the job market.

Settle for anything you can get, back still look for work in your choosen field in your spare time. Times are tough, get something to make some money on.

there are quite a few vacancies in schools for school dinner cooks, its partime hours and you won't be working during school holidays so plenty of time to relax when not working.
have a look on you local councils websites for vacancies.

Don't give up and keep trying..lots of people have breaks in their working life and there are employers who will take you on. Good luck with it.

Re-train,learn something new,you may find something else that you are good at.
