JRD Tata, the famous industrialist of Tata Group of Companies has said about India. " I want to see India become more powerful not in the sense that it is a militarily superior, but in the sense that all are happy". That is what I want to see every where in future. For people to be happy, they should be free from hunger, have health, reasonable needs be fulfilled, free from scourge of famine and hunger, no exploitation, no hatred in the name of religion, no indoctrination of religion, free from unreasonable and rigid religious dogmas and full of compassion and loving kindness towards all fellow humans and even towards animals.

Oh I've asked something simular to this, I've answered this before too and not just here on Y!A either...
LOL
Give me time to type it up
Here is my answer:
A future that I want to look like, is a world I would like to live in.
A world with no big or glabal wars, A world with no wepons of mass destruction b/c we all agreed we'd all die from them LOL.
A world were people are Truely FREE, were the only government is the people's decisions. Where there is no longer the poor or the rich, an so there is no more hunger. All of humanity would have clean water, healthy food, healthcare, shelter, education, transportation, and entertainment and all of it would be provided for as a neccesity for FREE.
A world were we always keep in mind what our impact will be on the environment, so we have devolpted new technologies to work with the environment instead of against it.
A world where there is not more discrimination, were I can see all types of people hanging out with other types of people all the time and having fun.
A colorful world of endless possibilities when it comes to creativity...
A world were we invent a device that we can communicate with other life forms like the animals on our planet, so that they can now have a voice of their own.
Again... a world that everyone and everything is Truely FREE.
;-)

The future that I would want would be one where all of mankind's energies would be turned towards improving the methods of meeting the needs of Humanity and the Animal world. No wars, They never prove anything. Education that is free of bias and propaganda. No crime, that is also negative and unproductive. A humankind that turns it's thoughts to the Stars, ever seeking new knowledge of what we are all about. An end to outmoded Religious Dogma that is based primarily on people control.
A world where jealousy, Envy and unhappiness would no longer exist.
All of this will come in time or we will go the way the Dinosaurs went and all the tears and efforts will have been in vain.

I'm a baby boomer. The future I would hope for, would make children #1 priority. They Will be the future leaders. I think they are society's least priority, since we are driven by profit. This is what troubles me most. If we don't take care of our future (kids), where are we headed? I'm very troubled by what young people are not learning, speaking in general. So what does that say about us older folks? Where is the nurturing? I had that. Now it seems, so many people feel entitled and have no conscious to contribute to society. Did we raise a generation of spoiled brats? Divorced moms, working, finding their identity, neglecting our own, are we all paying for it now? I have to have my independence to live, but somewhere something got F. up.

I would like to see all US citizen able to get the health care they need. Many people stay in awful jobs just to have coverage and still, they run the chance of going bankrupt if they need special treatment for an illness. Many others can't afford health care and go without. This affects the quality of life.
I would like to live in a country where students are seen as an investment in the future as early as preschool. Fund the HeadStart programs and make higher education possible for everyone who wants a college degree. We are crippling young people today with crushing student loans they will be paying on long after graduation.
A true separation of church and state. I don't care how religious a politician is, just as long as s/he doesn't try to use legislature to push her/his beliefs on others. Governance should be religion free to be fair to all people.
Those are three major changes I would like to see come about in the US.

I want to see the world come together for a space project. The resources needed to catapult us into the twenty first century and beyond requires resources from the planet as a whole. It is too bad that some do not want to play but we must move on. The big countries, US, China, Japan, England, France, Russia, and many more who are contemplating a space program should all combine all of their resources and make the next trip to the moon happen and set up a permanent moon base. We should launch aging scientist who wish to volunteer into one way trips out into deepest darkest space and start getting a human element into some of those far off explorations. Space, that is where we must set our sites on. Earth is too small and we are on the verge of using up her very resources that sustain us. Then what?

I would long for enough food to feed the world, enough medical care for the sick, and cures for the many maladies that we know today. a place where their is no abuse to our children, A world with harmony and peace where all people are free to use the free will that was given to us by the Lord, may this free will be used in a positive way to promote unity and togetherness so there would be no famine, homeless and diseases and wars. I do not want a perfect utopia because that will never happen, But we can want this for the generations that will follow us. Let us install these values and morals in our children for they are the only hope our world has today.

My ideal future would be like the TV show Star Trek. Somehow battling alien species seems like a better pursuit than battling members of our own species here on Earth. At least the Earth is at peace and humans have united, and technology allows them to all have access to enough resources with which they can live comfortably and pursue knowledge and only do what they want to do. Sounds like paradise.

I would like to see innovation and Idea's to advance the Human race. I do not care the way we live now,all too dependent on commercial foods, not many no longer has common seance about the impact of certain Idea's that are so called innovations to make life easier, the draw back is that people are getting fatter, staying in the house afraid to go out and to be monitored by some government agency who are just steps away from giving up our sovereignty, need to rid US of U.N. wants all countries to march to the ideologies. Any thing for advancement of or race. and no more high tech weapons that can be used on Americans in the event protest of the U.N. global unity.

It has many many more trees and wild beasts like existed 100-200 years ago, also it has less noisy major roads, less congestion an extensive nationwide cycle network. Also the sense of community has been restored to all settlements and urban sprawl is a thing of the past. Air travel is also a less used form of travel with big speed boats and new boat technology alowing boats to race across the atlantic in ocean 'shipways'. Also nuclear and WMD's are banned by the U.N and war causes less casualties.
Finally the media is less predominate in western culture.
