There are extremists in this country such as Trevor Brooks aka Abu Izzadeen who openly insult our country and want us all dead, Including the Royal Family which is therefore treason. In the past this would lead to the death penalty, and as far as I know there is still a by-law which states that these individuals should be beheaded. Can anyone tell me why this isnt happening?

Well basically its because if your British your not allowed an opinion, equal treatment, a house, free voice or allowed to fly a George cross (Englands flag, for England) without being deemed racist. In essence if your a disabled muslim lesbian then Britain is just a big pot of gold

While perhaps not in good taste, insulting the Royal Family is not treason! Whoever told you that?!
In modern reality treason is plotting or making an attempt on the life of the Head of State. So, treason has an incredibly fine definition.
The people you speak of should be reigned in and charged if necessary with no less important crimes such as 'inciting racial tension' and 'attempting to instigate racial violence'.
Public hangings are no longer an option... Thank God!

Because the Government itself is the most guilty. I can't imagine a more treasonable act than wanting to hand your country to an alien organisation, the EU. The examples you cite are also valid, of course. Left wing Governments don't give a damn about nation states, they are more concerned in spreading their ideology. Britain doesn't have any borders as far as they are concerned, and they also don't like Monarchies.

The law of Treason can only be applied to Citizens of this country (UK born) and is only relevant to those who are in positions of power.
This is a grey area because it does not cover acts of Terrorism, even by a Citizen.
This only applies to someone (in power) who with others commits serious crimes which result in anything that breaches our National Security, such as Spying and providing information to our enemies detrimental to our country's stability.

They should be. I'm shocked at how soft the courts are. Murderers getting life imprisonment that only lasts 5-10 years and not getting the death penalty, traitors allowed to freely rant etc. It's truly terrible.

I wish the treason law was enforced. If you insult my country i would love to see you deported to whence you came from or imprisoned. Britain may not be perfect but its hell of alot better than other countries. Immigration is proof of that.

It would only be considered treason during a time of war, and The West have not yet officially declared this a state of war.

Because they are allowed to do anything they want but if WE the age old citizens of this Country, were to do anything similar we would immediately be hung drtawn and quartered as we are the only ones who have to abide by the rules!!!! Great plan that was whoever thought it up!!!

No evidence are gathered to prosecute the traitors. Treason is easily detected through media and overt acts but to prove it in court is difficult.

The death penalty still stands for murder of the monarch, and also for arson in the royal navy shipyards
