I want no one to open it without a password of some sort. I want it to ask for a password before it opens the file.

try the Universal Shield 4.0 program if you like it, i'll send you it's crack :)

There are security programs available. I save stuff in excel & password protect the file.

The best way is to create an encrypted virtual drive on your system and drop the file in there; only you will be able to access it

NTFS is windows NT 4.0 2000 pro xp home and pro. Right click the the file and select the hidden box ...

use security option to give a password while saving your file
