My 7 year old is very curious about how the body works, not just the usual things but how the nerves all work together to make your hands move etc. I have tried explaining but really struggling! Is there a book (with English spellings) that someone could recommend that could explain things simply and clearly?

I was interested in the same things when I was little. My favourite book on the subject was "The Magic Bus Inside the Human Body" http://tinyurl.com/mdgyr

From memory, it deals with nerves and muscles as well as the usual digestion and everything. Plus it's a nice book in that it explains things in simple terms, but isn't too patronising.

There's a whole load of "Magic Bus" books all on different topics (the link above links to other books in the series). So if he gets interested in other things, it's a nice series to collect.

Yes. There are loads.

Below is Human Body which you can get from Amazon:

Though personally I would go for the below book published by Usborne as it's a lot more fun and makes learning easier:

go online Ebay (where else) and get him a copy of the human body. its fantastic..you can do little things, like make the heart beat faster, and slower...and of course you can make skeletons dance..

its very informative and cost less than 5 pounds...
