The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. It's a nice tale about appreciation of life.

Ask. Oh, dont make it obvious, but ask what books he/she doesnt own and really wishes they did. Ask what they haven't read due to lack of time or just didn't get around to it. Maybe get them some manga/graphic novels/comic books (whatever you wanna call them); you'd be surprised just how good they really are. Seriously, though, ask. They know better than anyone here will.
Also, I know Walden's Books and probably B&N, etc, usually have some pretty neat bookmarks. Just to tuck in there as an extra surprise.

if someone read everything, anykind of books and as you say a lover of books (am i right, this is what i analize your question gee) if he/she is a book wormer/reader, there are always a new novels coming from different writer. or i may say is the person you are referring finished reading the encyclopedia books from A to Z. if this person reads all of these, then she/he is already a genius. Medical books, archeology books and etc.

If youre talking about fiction, then there is a book called The Drumbeat Of Jimmy Sands by Murray Davies, its one of my favourites. Its about the conflict in Northern Ireland, and I think most people would enjoy it. Action packed but adult, too.
