There are several ways to fix this problem.
If you're using outlook express or another mail program to pull emails from a server, you can set up filters to block out certain words. Any emails containing those words or email addresses are blocked. There are also many programs out there to help you with spam, viruses and spyware that your computer comes into contact with due to the fact that you use such an email program and download all of your emails to your pc.
If you're using webhosted email such as hotmail or yahoo, there are options available in the preferences section of the email sites that allow you to enable a junk or spam folder to collect most of the trash that you don't want automatically. There should also be options for filtering and blocking specific words and email addresses. Most free web-based email hosts are getting pretty good at stopping the trash before you ever see it.
If you are still getting a ton of spam after filtering, you may need to just give in and get a new email address. I had an one account for several years that just got so spammy I had to stop using it.

I too receive lots of spam and I use a program called mailbox dispatcher to deal with them. The program, once set up connects to each of my email addresses in turn and downloads the header of each message so that they can be reviewed. I can then blacklist (block) or whitelist (allow) as I see fit. I then mark all unrequired emails for deletion and the program then removes them from the email server. The dodgy emails are never downloaded onto your PC.
Setting up filters with your ISP email server will never work effectively because the spammers et al just change the wording every couple of days.

If marking emails as unsolicited mail isn't assisting to save your unsolicited mail mails below administration, you may attempt coming up your own filters. A filter out will research the problem line or sender's call for although note or word you specify and straight away away deliver those mails that meet the criteria on to the Trash folder so that you do not ought to work out or manage them. To create a filter out contained in the classic version of Yahoo Mail, visit thoughts > Filters. To create a filter out contained in the hot Yahoo Mail (in the previous prevalent as Beta), visit thoughts > Mail thoughts > Filters. loose Yahoo debts enable as a lot as fifteen filters, and Plus debts (authentic classification debts) enable as a lot as 50 filters.

I don't seem able to stop this either............just have them sent to your bulk mail and then delete without opening...............if you open them you just get more because they can see that you have actively looked at the mail, also they never come from the same web address so are impossible to report. Don't ever respond to a bank or ebay account mail they are hoaxes and ask you to verify your account by typing in details.........just bin them.

a spam filter. you should have one on your email provider. However, i have lots of them in place and spam mail still gets through. its almost impossible to stop. be careful who you give your email out to in the first place to minimise this sort of thing.

Your best option unfortunately, is to change you email address. Be careful who you give out your new address to. It is inconvenient as you have to inform friends and family of the change. Good luck.

If you go to My Q&A and click on 'edit my profile' you'll find an option to receive email from other YA users. Just uncheck this.
