Hi everyone, I'm having terrible trouble waking up in the morning when my alarm goes off. It's not that I'm being lazy and lying awake in bed, I just cannot keep my eyes open and always fall back to sleep. I go to bed early and sleep well but I don't know what else I can do, so your top tips on this would be much appreciated!

I too have the same problem! No matter how much sleep I have I just can't jump out of bed!

Set the alarm clock in a metal waste basket on the other side of the room. You'll not miss hearing it and you'll have to get out of bed.
I was considering buying one of those alarms that have a light that its meant to simulate daylight so you wake up with the 'sun rising' and the feeling that it is morning rather than the blackness that is about to come with winter.

Something has to work!!

Just get a cd alarm clock or a radio one set it very loud and put it away from your bed. First the sudden loud noise will have you so shocked sleep will be the last thing on your mind and second you need to get up to turn it off especially if you live with any body else cos there likely to kill you for having loud music blasting early in the morning.

put the alarm on the other side of the room. that way you have to get up to turn it off, then just dont go back to bed!

if youre so tired, you might have a low iron level ie anaemia. get this checked out by your GP. Ive had a similar kinda thing a few times, and all it takes to cure it is a course (normally 1 tablet a day for a month) of iron supplements.

Hope this helps!

I have the same problem but I've trained myself now. Basically I sit up the minute my alarm clock goes off, then I switch it off and get up. If I laid in bed I would fall straight back to sleep. You just have to get up straight away and get on with it. It will be hard at first, but you'll get used to it in the end.

Good luck!

Sounds silly but as soon as the alarm rings, jump out of bed. Ive tried it and it worked, although for a while I did find it hard, It works now so try doing that.

Its more like a shock to wake you when it goes off

Or place the alarm out of reach so that you have to get up to turn it off and turn it right up loud..

Good luck

I switch the alarm off and then immediatly stick the radio on quite loud and make myself listen to it for a couple of minutes and then get up. You have my full sympathy, I've always found alarm clock starts a real nightmare.
