Today's music sucks because it's soul bears NO merit. Back in the mid to late '90s, the vogue trend found it cool to sign up and promote bands who literally were still learning how to play music--and audiences raved how "raw" they sounded.
Major record labels bent over backwards to sign up the most talent-less bands they could find--and we all thought that was sooo cool. Well, 16 years later, we don't think it's so hot now; we're tired of it and demand better.
And the record label giants are listening too, because the $$$$ is at stake: they're phasing out Rap (thank God) and tossing the "alternative" rock sound. I've also noticed even "new" country is going back to a more traditional sound. Nothing talks louder than music fans and the $$$$ they have to spend.
I've noticed "classic 70's" rock n' roll is now being re-named REAL rock---and vynil 33 and 1/2 RPM records are making so serious a comeback, that new record turntable models are popping up in stores.
Don't be surprised to hear a more 70's "retro" rock sound making it's comeback, too. Jet is already leading the pack with this music sound and you can bet some 70s rock legends will soon enjoy their return to the popular main stage once again.

I like all music but not rap. I choose music for the occasion. I have a big collection of music. I tell my family what to buy me for my Birthday and Christmas. I have made a list. I have Celtic, Country, Rock and Roll, 50's, 60's and 70's, and Classical. I like easy listening when I need to relieve stress. I don't have any of today's music except for Country. I think music is taking a trend for the better. I hope.

In whole I do not think it is anything to write home about.
I listen to all sorts of music, Country and now what is called classic rock being my first two. Fifty's and sixty's rock and roll is right up there in my book as well.
Todays music sounds all the same to me.......Then again no one in the family even listens to todays music, including the kids.

I prefer older and more classic music like Frank Sinatra, because those were the days where men were gentlemen and people then really knew how to dance. And this genre of music is relaxing and really enjoyable. :-)

hmm..i guess depends on the genre..but for me, as long as it has good meaning and funky beats, then it's fine with me..but to compare the music of today from yesterday? you must be deaf if you don't know the answer in your own question..peace!
