I am using an S-Video cable to connect the laptop output to the TV to watch movies. I am planning to start playing games also. I am wondering if high graphics of these games would cause any harm to my TV's picture tube?

well iam 100 percent sure ur tv wont be affected by that.bcos the processing is taken place in the graphics card. ur tv only recieves the video signal so no matter how complicated the content is the tv wont be affected. now can u help me please. i want to do that and ive got the s video wire. now the picture is black and white and doesnt display any desktop contents apart from the wallpaper on the tv. i guess i need to make some setting changes. so please help as a i cudnt find a way.

ok if its a projection t.v dnt even plug it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! narmal glass t.v its cool thats hw i have myn ans a plasma iv heard its beter bt iam nt rich 4 a 42 or 32 in plasma

possibly if it is a projection tv i would check with the tv manufactuer
