I can't throw the ball straight high up, is there any specific trick? And shud I improve on my power or stroke first?

like the other person above me said. practice throwing the ball up. ive found it useful to throwing up as if throwing it up around 11 or 12 oclock.

oh and also, practice throwing the ball to where it feels natural. and always try to throw the ball at the same height each and every throw so you kno when the descent of the ball is the same.

i usually try hitting the ball once it starts decending. ive noticed that if the ball is hit before it descends, more strain is put on the shoulder and arm. once you hit it when it descends, it feels like the ball weighs nothing and its a clean hit.

i would advise to work on your stroke first because once you get the feeling for the right serve thats perfect for you,gradually try adding more power. hope this helps

Throw the between the 12 and 1 on a clock. I jump at the same time I throw the ball up and hit the as it is going up not coming back down. Try that see ow it feels. The trick with is most opponent think you will hit on the way down and creates an element of surprise.
