I would like to elope, do I havt to put wedding bands up? How long are they valid for? I dont know exactly when we are off!

yes you do have to put wedding bands up in whatever you are eloping to. in scotland you need at least 6 weeks notice and have to be in the area for 7 days or more.

I eloped, and yes you had to have the wedding bands up.
We didn't have to be residents, a JP married us pretty promptly.
It was in Mass. back in '82 don't know if laws of residency have changed like these folks talk about though. I would call city hall of the City first.

if you go somewhere like gretna green i think you have to be resident for 48hrs before you get married, so you could go wed's get married friday/saturday
