Red X's appear when the picture can't be found, it's usually when you're on the Internet and the pictures can't be downloaded to be shown.
This could be because they've been moved, they've been renamed by accident or because your internet connection isn't running at the time.

I get that too sometimes. My computer is 5 years old so I suspect that I do not have the proper program to open all pictures.

The Exact reason that you copy paste the image rather and hence the browser is not able to locate the image in a perfect way .hence the solution is that you can download that image and their run in your own browser and then copy paste the image

the picture didn't download properly -- you can right click and go to "show picture" and try again -- but it might be removed or a problem with the server it is stored on.

This means that for whatever reason, your computer can't load the image. Perhaps you don't have the correct software?
