Sounds to me like your system needs a lot of attention, it pumping into the expansion tank in your loft which either means your Central heating pump is too big for the job or more likely there is a design fault in the pipe work. Or the by pass has a vale on it and it has been shut off (although you said earlier you had a three way valve so it may not have a bypass)
Needs looking at by a competent engineer maybe a Britsh Gas Engineer (I assume its a gas boiler)
Another possibility is that if your three way valve is not working it the water may pump over but it without seeing it I cannot be sure.

You do not say which overflow pipe is leaking.
You may have one on the feed and expansion tank in your loft or it could be the cold water storage tank in the loft.
Are all the radiators on and are all of the thermo valves open and allowing heated water through? As it is still warm weather the answer is probably no.
What could be happening is that as the water in the system gets hot, it has very little circulation and as it expands, when heated, it rises up the expansion pipe and overflows int the expansion tank. The water lost in the overflow tank should be made up by the water in the tank. The tank outlet may be partly blocked and it fills up and reaches the overflow.
I should have the system checked by a competent heating engineer, not Brit Gas, as the system may not be refilling quickly enough.
See what happens with all radiators fully on and shut them down one at a time. There should always be one radiator, usually the bathroom, that does not have any control at all and is allowed to be hot all of the time. This ensures that there is always sufficient circulation to take away any excess heat.

Usually a bit of grit in the ball valve which feeds the header tank. Not scary - turn off the mains, then you can usually dismantle them by hand. There is a little plunger washer that you should wash.
