Glass shelves are usually made using tempered glass with finished edges. Cutting tempered glass and finishing the edges is not something that the average hardware store or home improvement warehouse can do. This takes the skill and know-how of a glass specialist.

Best advice is to visit your local glass shop. Large shops in major metropolitan areas may stock an assortment of brackets and hardware, but most probably will not. They will have specialty catalogs where the hardware can be ordered. Of course, they can provide the glass that will be used for the shelving. They will size the thickness of the glass based on the span between the supports and the weight that will be put on the shelves.

Unfortunately, glass shelves and all of the necessary hardware is somewhat pricey because they are specialty items. You may get lucky and find some pre-cut kits offering three glass shelves and the brackets used to install them. These kits are also somewhat pricey and are usually offered in fairly short shelf lengths. You may also find them offered in glass shops and some home improvement warehouses.

Good luck with your glass shelf project.

Go to your local Hardware stockist, buy some shelving brackets that are suitable to your needs size wise, colour wise and width wise. Then visit a Specialist Glass Business, they will know what thickness glass you will need and cut it to size and finish off the edging so it is safe to use for such purposes. Much cheaper than buying already made shelving they will also have the accessories you will need to put the shelving on your brackets to stop movement of the glass on them.
Good luck with your Project :-)

Try ikea.com, or go to ikea if you have one near you. They used to carry glass wall-mounted shelves.
