Any good way to prevent sinus problems, colds, coughs and flu during cold weather? (Besides wearing thicker clothing, using chemical warmers and using a humidifier which I have already done.) New alternative methods welcomed eg. perharps acupressure?

The very best way to avoid catching colds, coughs, and the flu is by careful and frequent hand washing. Humans don't become infected from being cold. They get infected when the germs and viruses enter their system through mucus membranes like the mouth and nose. Avoid being in closed areas with people who are exhibiting symptoms. Ask them to cover their nose and mouth during coughing and sneezing. If someone around you coughs or sneezes without covering up, hold your breath and move out of the area. Wash your hands before eating, preparing food, or touching your mouth and/or face. Eat a well-balanced diet and get enough rest. Those are the best things you can do to strengthen your immune system.

The normal flu season in the northern hemisphere occurs in the November to March period. Other than avoiding crowds, the best advice would be to maintain a good healthy diet.

With the onset of winter, take plenty of vitamin supplements. On the first sign of a cold take echinacea either in tablet or liquid form.
I honestly believe that humans are meant to hibernate, so get as much sleep as you can during the long dark hours :-)
Happy winter everybody .... xxxx
