Is your bunny neutered? If not, that is a first step.
Our little boy didn't really change at all after we adopted a girl friend for him. He might want even more pets from us as the two of them love to snuggle and groom each other. He seems happier too with a friend and digging carpet and chewing furniture has slowed down (good things)
If possible contact a local rabbit rescue and set up an appointment for your boy to meet likely bonding buddies and take your boy to meet them. When they get home, take it slow.
Here is a good link to more info on bonding and you'll probably find more at the site on behavior post bonding.

Good luck, Martha

Animal behaviors are controlled through chemical messengers. The original way animals think is not through language but through emotions. By sterilizing your rabbit you will most probably eliminate a chemical messenger that controls its behavior. Since a rabbit has no language and thus no logical thought it can not think about its situation it is probably not such a cruel thing to do. But you will destroy a facet of its behavior that was designed by GOD.

it will make him alot calmer, i have a male rabbit and im considering getting him done as he can get a bit nasty sometimes. the only thing that worries me is that he has a lovley personality ( apart from the odd time) and i dont want him to change. if your rabbit is not bad tempered in any way i dont think i would have him done.

I know I would. Actually, yes, because the hormone balance changes and hormone balance is a big determiner in some types of behavior.

I think that if you got him fixed he would become lazy. At least that is what most animals do. I have never had one that i got fixed so not really sure. I also just raised them to have babies around easter.
