Look up the symptoms of strep throat online. Then if you think you have it, do not delay going to the doctor for antibiotics. Untreated strep throat can lead to life-threatening diseases and people used to die from it in the 1950s prior to having the medicine to treat it.

it can be so many different things. however the one thing i know about is strep throat, i get it all the time!! Look in the mirror with a flash light at your throat. Is it red, puff and have white stuff on it?? If it does then in is strep or tonsillitis or both! And if thats what it is it will only get worse without antibiotics!
If that is not the case then thank your lucky stars...lol and take something like motrin for the pain and gargle with warm salt water, it taste nasty but it will help it feel better and help the infection clear up quicker.
Hope you feel better soon!

Maybe you need to start with a saline gargle a few times a day.. Also look at your tongue and see if it looks like a strawberry... if it does, don't wait for your insurance card.. get some immediate help.. antibiotics.. If there are no white spots in the back of the throat, may have to consider some other condition which also may be quite serious. Mono being one of them.

Sorry, sounds like sterp throat to me. See your doctor as soon as you get your card. Until then use cough drops, get an over-the-counter sore throat med. Warm tea, less soda. If you already have the insurance but not the card, see a doctor anyway. If you have your information you should be able to be seen.
