I am a engineer with 12 years of maufacturing domain experience in the areas of Maintenance, project management, product development, sales & service. I have desire towards becoming SAP functional consultant. If I complete training course on SAP-SCM module, will it be really beneficial for me? How are its opportunities in India. Otherwise if I do course on SAP-MM module, will it be enough?

The SCM modules will certainly interest you a lot.
You should check the Plant maintenance module too.
Don't limit yourself to MM only in your career. But if you finance it yourself then MM will do.
