I noticed that the characters/roles from the drama wear eyeglasses when they use computer. Why do they need eyeglasses? They characters are usually between 20 to 40s. They are not old enough to need reading eyeglasses. If they have near sight, don't they need eyeglasses to see far away stuff more clear but not anything close?

I never had to wear glasses UNTIL I started using a computer all the time! I was around 30 when I started wearing glasses.
I am almost 50 now, but have been wearing bifocals since my late 30's. I am farsighted.

Some actors and ordinary people need eyeglasses or reading glasses because they are either near sighted or far sighted or some people spend too much time and the computer and it messes up their eyesight....just like a mom would tell her young child not to sit too close to the t.v. cuz they would damage their eyes

Some shows/movies do it to go for the intellectual look. In real life, however, some people have a hard time focusing on computer screens when they already of eyesight issues. To sit on the computer for any great length of time I have to take out my contacts and wear my glasses, just because focusing on the screen in my contacts makes my eyes burn. I can't wear EITHER when reading books! Its a mystery.
But yeah, for movies and the ilk, I'm pulling for the intellectual look.

using computers for a long period of time may cause damage to eyes; therefore, some people use them to protect their eyes. moreover, wearing eyeglasses or sunglasses helps in reducing radiation which affects the eye.

If you go to an eye doctor and ask him/her this question he /she will tell you that spending too much time at the computer will ruin your eyes to the point that you need special computer compensating glasses. I was at an optometrist recently and learned this while I was waiting for some one else.

im 26 and wear reading glasses so you dont have to be old to use them. i only use them while online or reading a book. some people just cant see words well. to me thats the only thing that gets fuzzy
