Do you actually know someone with such horrible children? I was absolutely appalled last night at the behaviour of the kids. I coulnd't believe the language the little boy hurled at his mother, besides the kicking and hitting. I felt so sorry for her - I know I would have slapped the little so-and-so and I couldn't believe she just sat there and cried. I felt like crying too! And the father sat on his computer and ignored it all. Surely this is something that doesn't happen often?

Stephy - I did too!
I don't know about the mother being hit and shouted at - I was hit and shouted at and my children don't behave like that!
I think it actually stems from the father's amazing ability not to involve himself with his family and also the way he treated his wife. I clicked over for a few minutes to E4 and saw him buying a garden table. The swearing and violent way he spoke just showed you where the kids got it from.

Kids are very difficult to control if there is not a united front from the parents.
I did not see the programme last night although I have seen previous shows - I can't believe them either. What is wrong with the parents or parent not setting a good example for their kids. Life is tough enough without having to overcome problems like these and the ones faced in the future by the children when they grow up.
Maybe there should be some kind of parenting class. The tricks the nannies use in the programme are very powerful tools when used properly.

It does, some of society have done a very poor job at bringing up their children & there is a snowball effect, they have kids & do the same only slightly worse. If both Partners have been brought up badly it is a recipe for disaster.

The Dad last night was obviously ignored as a kid & did the same, the Mom was obviously smacked & shouted at. This was reflected in the way they handled the kids, Not well at all.

Hopefully they have broken the cycle with Supernanny showing them how to communicate with the kids should help & hopefully other parents with problems can try to put it into practice.

It is very simple when you look at it, I was shouted at & Smacked as a kid, but would never do the same to my child after watching the show, it is all common sense really & not communicating properly with your kids is setting them up to fail.

I watch most supernanny programmes and the blame can never be laid at the door of the children but that of the parents. What amazes me when watching supermanny is how social services don't see what we see and step in! It breaks my heart to see children being brought up by imbeciles (when I grew up there was always one bad family around the neighbourhood, but now they are everywhere).

I for one think bad parenting should be punished criminally! Make them attend classes to improve their parenting skills or face a punishment. Supernanny is highlighting a problem with bad parenting that is escalting. It has to be dealt with now to protect good parenting and to ensure 2/3/4 generations from now, reality is not a Mad Max film.

Let's face it, most of the kids appalling behaviour was down to the parents. I can't believe how useless the dad was - surfing the net whilst his kids were causing havoc 3 feet away from him. I loved it when he had to spend a whole hour repeatedly putting his daughter back on the naughty chair - I think that really brought things into focus for him!

I didn't watch this particular episode but i normally do,It is the blame of the parents, when a child is born it is basically like a computer it is empty! It only does what the person controlling it does or tells it to do or not in most of the case's of the parents.

I don't think that this happens often - but it just shows you what happens if you don't discipline your children, and don't treat them as you would want them to treat you.
I think that if you watch Supernanny and other similar programmes, you can start to think that more children are like this than actually are.

Well, as she said, the child has learnt his behaviour from the parents.

Makes you wonder how he learned to hit his mother doesn't it!?
