T.Hotspurs will recover from this early "slump" and get to mid-table soon. Difficult to guess what are the reasons for
present slump but I guess it could be due to "players" lack of motivation and "cohesiveness" among themselves.

Great season last year, and a big kick in the teeth at the end. Probably expectations have been a bit too high (for a lot of clubs including Liverpool) bearing in mind injuries and players being tired from the world cup. Dont forget they have had some tough games already and there is still a long way to go they will be up for a european place again at the end of the season.

Billy Big-Spuds syndrome.

They are in the position a lot of teams find themselves Everton last year and Ipswich, Newcastle and Middlesborough in recent years.

They qualify for Europe, buy some good quality players, and think that it is easy to turn up (subconsciously), roll teams over and challenge for the CL positions.

It take time for new players to set in and while this happens, the work-rate and quality that got them into Europe is difficult to find. Now everyone is asking where the goals are going to come from confidence is low as was proved with the late slump against Liverpool.

Spurs will be OK though, and when the goals come, they will come big.

Good man, nice to see someone's still flying the flag for us. The answer is simple: Carrick! We should never have sold him really, but then, he did want to go. He was our link up player between the defence & midfield and he was able to get forward and attack. The perfect all round defensive midfielder really. As soon as we sold him I knew we'd be fcuked as Zokora is an absolutely awful replacement. All we can do is hope that the team somehow comes together and we start winning games. Defoe also needs to start playing a lot more games instead of that Irish limpet Keane. He's like our Alan Shearer. Scores tap-ins and penalties but doesn't win us sweet F.A. At the moment, it looks like Gerry Francis did a better job!!

We have had a bad start (NOT just results, but injuries to key players) and I feel moral is low.
But Didi is looking sharp and most of the new acquisitions are starting to show promise (even Danny Murphy's beginning to look like his old self).
I think it is about time Defoe went (maybe a cash plus player deal with Pompey, to bring back Pedro?), every time he scores, you hope this will be what starts him off... But to NO avail.
Once Berbs, Malbranque and the mighty Aaron are back... we will start climbing the table and hopefully win the UEFA cup?
Have faith in Jol!

They are struggling to score goals. They lost Mido and Berbertov is injured. Defoe and Keane struggle when playing together hence the fact that the other 2 were purchased.

The new players have not fitted in as well as they could yet but it will come together, its just a matter of time but matches that you cannot afford to waste.
There have been a lot of missed opportunities that should have taken and Carrick's presence is missed.
