no bearshare is fine to use, its Limewire you need to stay away from, its totally rubbish, trust me i've been using bearshare for years!!and have no problems using it

Limewire is great; Bearshare is garbage. Most people use Limewire, believe me. Tons of stuff there I couldn't find anywhere else, esp. on Bearshare.
Limewire's main problem is that ISP's pickup when you download from it & threaten to report you. Go with Peer Guardian to block them out if you go with Limewire.

i use bearshare regularly, ive also tried many other d/l p2p sites and i alwasy come back to bearshare
i do not however download any thing except music and movies
and the one time i did try to download the sims for pc zipped file - my antivirus picked up the virus before opening
i now have discovered a setting in bearshares options to restrict certain content and only download ffrom authenticated bearshare users
go to "set up" then "options" then "advanced" then tick the option activate secure channels
i just love bearshare its the shyt , and like i said in all the years ive used it ive only had one problem and it wasnt serious as my antivirus grabbed it.

limewire is definitely the way to go for downloading and burning music.you will find millions of songs for free.even hard to find and oop songs are available.the problem with limewire is the download programs and videos section.it is there you will find viruses.must take caution.but if you wanna burn music for free limewire is your best bet.there are no viruses in any of the music files.bear share in my opinion sucks.it is free but you only get a hand full off songs for free and most of the time they wont even download so you will have to pay using your credit card to download and burn music from the full version they offer.

haha. everyone told me not to get bareshare.. but i did anyways.. and i hated it.. but like, ALL my friends, including me have limewire. and we all love it.. if i was you. id get limewire.. but do NOT download porn on it.. THAT will give oyu soooo many viruses.. belive me. haha. my friend learned the hard way! good luck on whatever you get tho!
