911 here in the states is well known as thee number to dial when you need help or the police...but is it the same number say likein canada? or anywhere else...just wondering

No in Nroth Carolina it's 911.....
Yeah I told someone in the UK a few years ago while IM each other to call 911...lol
They didn't know what I was talking about. Until that day I assumed it was the same all over the world.

In Singapore , 999 for police emgencies, 995 for fire/ambulance emrgencies.

in South Africa we have a few numbers but I think we mainly use 112 in emergency or 10111 for police etc.
