The only SAFE day for a woman not to become pregnant are those days when she doesn't have sex.

No method of birth control offers 100 per cent guarantees; but condoms and/or The Pill are about the most reliable. And while the pill (if taken properly) is effective against unwanted pregnancies, it offers no protection against STDs.

There is no 100% safe time as sperm can live for up to 7 days in the right environment. But personally I have not as yet heard of a woman getting pregnant whilst she is on her period. So I guess that is almost the only time you may be safe. But this would not work if your wife has very short cycles as she could ovulate quite soon after period stops.

The method of birth control you're talking about is called the rhythm method. It suggests that a woman won't get pregnant if she avoids having sex during the time of month when she ovulates. The time is generally believed to be from the 20th day after her period begins, through the 7th day after it starts. Doing the rhythm method correctly requires taking a basal temperature EVERYDAY, taking samples of cervical mucus and testing it with a home testing kit, and taking the risk of accepting an unplanned pregnancy. Sperm can live for up to 72 hours in a woman's body.

IT IS THE LEAST RELIABLE FORM OF BIRTH CONTROL!!!!!!

At the least, go with an over the counter spermicide.

From about a week before her period to about a week after it starts, including when she has it, is the safest time.

That said, a woman can get pregnant anytime. You really are foolish not to use birth control at at all times if you don't want a baby. What about the pill?

Please avoid an unwanted pregnancy at all costs. Send her to Planned Parenthood or the county health department or her doctor.

A woman can get pregnant any day of the month. However, there are days she is considerably less likely to do so. The best site I've seen on this is Natural Family Planning. It can be a little graphic, so be forewarned.

I know several people who use this method and have had great success.

There are no safe days. There are days when it may be less likely. But if you are trying to use this method to avoid getting your wife pregnant, you're going to have a new addition to your family soon. Have your wife make an appointment with a gyn and go with her. And make a list of questions you want to ask.

it really depends woman to woman, but all i know is the safest time to have sex without protection is during her period, although if shes ovulating already towards the end of her cycle there is a chance she could get pregnant. As for the other days of the month that she isnt ovulating, i believe you actually have to go to a doctor to get examined and find out, thats what people do when they are trying to get pregnant and want to find out what days of the month are best for it to happen

There are no safe days. She can get pregnant anytime.

The reason for this is because eggs are often released at random times in the menstrual cycle. So even though "ovulation" is the most likely time she will get pregnant, she could get pregnant at any time.

The Ovualtion cycle of a woman can vary depending upon the woman. Every 21 days sup[posedly she will begin ovulation. You can tell because her body temperature will rise to a near 100o.

actually a woman can become pregnant even on your period, use condoms always. there are safer days, like two days before the period, on the period and a day or two after, but you can still get pregnant, so no day is totally safe without protection.
