"The difference between what the most and the least learned people know is inexpressibly trivial in relation to that which is unknown."
- Albert Einstein
We really don't know all that much... in actuality we're probably pretty stupid.
Don't be so hard on yourself. Many people in this world (especially our politicians) pretend to know more than they actually do, they just know how to make it look good.
We (somehow) elected a president who stood at a podeium for about 20 seconds in complete silence when asked a question.
I read or heard somewhere that the average human brain has a difficult time understanding numbers larger than 10. (Don't bust my bum if this is false) If this is the case, then it's possible you're thinking of ideas that are too complex, and while you understand the idea as a whole, you have difficult time explaining to others exactly every detail that went through your mind.

Great speakers practice presentation and explaining before they go in front of the audience. You can practice this at home - read a paragraph or a sentence and repeat loudly without reading what did you understand. You can also make a notes of some keywords that can help you to explain different topics.

I understand exactly how you feel! Im the same. I have acquired much knowledge and can apply it in life but explaining it to peopole I am hopeless at doing. I can explain things in written form but not verbally. Strange isnt it. I guess we are all just gifted in different ways.

Easy: it is much harder to explain something than to understand it. To explain something to somebody else, you really have to know your topic. If you don't believe me, become a teacher and you will understand in a hurry.

If you truly understand, it's not necessary to convine others. But try this: write down what you understand, just for yourself.. then look at it once a week, and modify it, in words, and soon you'll be more comfortable expressing all that you know. Just for yourself. Not for anyone else. OK?

Because understanding is for yourself, while explaining is for everyone else.
Its always easier to do something for yourself than for everyone else. Even a perfect person could not perfect others.

The more you understand, the more you will learn about what you dont know and cant explain. Basically the more you know, the more you will realise that you dont know. True knowledge is knowing that you dont know anything.

Speaking is it's own art. Join a speakers club. Also, read books to acquire language.

Good question! I know how you feel. Sometimes it's hard to organize your thoughts into something that you can express to someone else. You just have to keep talking until whoever you are talking to makes sense of what you are saying.
