It's worse when the clocks go forward. I have to endure a week of it happening just as I arrive for work.

It's either pressure of the urine or sexual dreams. I think the former is more likely because, I read, old men have these hardons even when they are past it. However I am 71 and I am not past it but I quite rarely have these hardons. I don't dream much either or remember dreams anyway. 71 of course these days isn't really old. Anyone want any other details about me (preferably female)?

because us guys you see when you go to sleep your bodily systems shut down, and the sudden activation when you wake up causes a blood rush to your penis thus causing you to go as you say stiff as a board

Guys wake up with a stiff 'un because u have to pee.
Actually my BF loves to pee first and then have a quickie with me in the morning. He loves it if I give him a BJ early morning... :)

Mainly its because we get a full bladder which pushes against the prostrate gland.

Dont really know... but i find it useless.. you cant do anything with it at that time! first it goes back down, then if there is something ' good ' hanging around... it shoots right back up! i believe its called a purile erection? or something like that... its got something to do with your body waking up

Due to hormone production as you sleep.
