If so, I think we should forcably remove Texas, send Bush back to rule it, them completly embargo them. They're always bragging about how they are like their own damn country anyway. Let's just give them what they want and see how well they do. Besides, we could make Puerto Rico a state at the same time so we can still be 50 states and not have to lose a star on our flag! Who's with me on this?

Or better yet, can the West Coast states completely secede from the union and become our own nation? How awsome would that be? Caloreton, the Beautiful!!! Let's see how well the rest of the Bush loving, Bible thumping, hypocritcal Christian right states would fare without the 7th largest economy in the world carrying them!!

Artimus Prime you made my day. I have the same exact thought when I initially got on my computer to Google removing Texas from the union. That was preceded by listening to an NPR episode where it was mentioned that Texas is the only state that allows officers to carry weapons in mental health facilities; my view this law was put into effect just a few weeks after someone was shot in the chest who was having a bipolar episode while unarmed and in a hospital. Sometimes I feel like the decisions that are made in Texas are made by people we re trying to see how far you can push bad decision making.

There are a lot of good things in Texas. They got a dandy little taco stand just west of the Rio Grande. And then there's one of the most important pieces of American history, The Alamo. I hear Pee Wee Hermann's bicycle is locked up in the basement of the Alamo.

Anyway, no need to remove the state just the man. How about giving him his own little state, like they gave Napoleon St. Helena in exile. That might do the job.

I live in Texas, and I know quite a few Texans who would probably agree with you.

I don't. If a state were to be removed it ought to be California.

Actually, I don't know if it's possible to remove a state. Texas does enjoy a different status, being a former independent republic.

By the way--you probably didn't know Texas could legally split itself up into as many as five states and all would be admitted to the union.

So be careful. We might decide to do it.

Californicate; the land of queersandsteers, would not stand alone a week! the whacko's would suck it right off the map in no time flat.. But TEXAS would not need to stand alone,, most of america would join them in their secession, leaving Ca,NY,Ct to flounder..
