I don't believe college is the most important thing in life, but for me it is one of them. I am 52 years old and started higher education in the Summer of 2000. I am a junior now at a state university in the school of business.

I have worked for the same company for 23 years and make pretty good money. For me it college was what was "missing" in my life. It has increased my self confidence and given me wisdom. When I am in class, I am truly in awe of my fellow students and the professors. I attend a "research university" where new knowlege is being made all the time. This is truly inspiring.

The most important thing in life is family. Raising your sons or daughters right. Respecting nature and society...providing them the tools they need for success. Loving your spouse, so that the home enviorment is ripe and fertile for the childrens growth.

I never had that love. My father beat me and took away my self confidence. I was never nutured so I know first hand that loving your children is more important than getting a college education.

I since have worked with Big Brothers and have had smaller brothers that had a similar childhood as myself. The fathers abused them physically and mentally. No amount of education takes the place of the love to family.

To raise your sons or daughters right and give them the opportunities they need to be successful is the responsibility that takes precidence over "higher education". Of course, when this happens your child would have the opportunities for college.

I do not belive money can keep one from getting higher education, but not having supporting parents can, and if the child feels that they are worthless, then it could take them a lifetime, to get a college education...

Not necessarily,
But it depends upon what you want to do with your life.
It also depends upon your expectation.
You want to be successful in your life in terms of materialistic happiness ?
Then it is a capital YES
Look friend ,
You want to buy good looking cars or posh bungalow or have vacations every six months in Bali or Manila etc then it becomes doubly important that you not only attend the college but you also should come on top of the class.
There is another way you can enjoy all the above by not attending the college.
You can become a paid driver and drive good car.
Become a janitor and work in a posh bungalow.
Work as a Bar tender in Bali or Manila and enjoy the beautiful beaches.
Now you know how to do the things both ways.
Now you tell me IS COLLEGE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN LIFE ?
Good luck if you are all ready thinking about the college.

The most important thing in life depends entirely at what stage of life you are in.. Most people, when questioned carefully will finally reveal; the most important thing in life is to have peace of mind. This has been tested numerous times and always turns out to be the "most important" response.
