Odds of getting pregnant after a tubal?

Hello everyone, I just wanted to know the odds of getting pregnant after a tubal that was done 10 years ago? I hear all the time that the chances of getting pregnant after the 10 year mark are higher. Does anyone know why? Also I read somewhere on the internet that if your tubes were burned and the doctor burnt to much of your tubes (got carryed away) the chances of them tearing are higher. How could one find out if this hapened. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Iaintelle, 10 years ago I had a tubal. This month my period was 4 days late and only for a day and light. I went to the doctor today (one week later) and the pregnancy test came back negative. I have all the signs of being pregnant and was wondering if the test could be wrong.

You can still get pregnant after an ectopic pregnancy. Your chances of a repeat will be higher, but your chances for a normal pregnancy are great as well. If you are concerned about whether your tubes are damaged, you doctor can perform a test called a salpingogram. The test is done on an outpatient bases and involves having a dye introduced through the cervix, that will flow through your tubes. Hi how are? Well the only advice i can give is that i had an ectopic and they cut my tubal they said it might be a chance it could happen again and what i want to let u know is if you have a tubal pregnancy the only way it may be detected that u are pregnant is blood work cause i took urine test and it came back negative until i went to the hospital with pain then i knew i was pregnant by blood work..

Yes you can. I got pregnant the next year. The burned end came off the tube leading from the ovary. Of course the follicle could not get to my uterus, that portion of the tube stayed blocked, so I had an ectopic pregnancy that involved my right ovary. What a mess. I missed periods but thought it was menopause kicking in. There has to be a better way!!
