Definately a best first assualt. I used to be a fighting man and quite often went for the butt.... grabbing the opponents lapel so that you can pull them toward you helps increase velocity.
Always go for the nose, it is nearly impossible to fight after a butt to the nose..... Obviously dont wait around enjoying your foes pain, go for a second butt, then work their face with your right fist whilst gripping their adams apple with the left, suffocation stops the reflex to gaurd their face!
Wear sturdy boots so that you can finish them off with a few good kicks to the head once they fall.. I know its frowned on to kick a man when he`s down but it is effective..........

In my experience the classic headbutt is usually much more felt by the receiver than the giver, so as an opening move can be quite useful. See Zinedine Zindane (French Footballer). In some circles refered to as a Glasgow kiss....

a well thrown haedbutt is a very usefull... but...taking the wind out of your opposer is much more usefull...
1. throwing a punch to the stomach is not all that visible in public
2. your opponent can not scream for help
3. your opponent can not fight back
4.natural instinct is to guard your face not your stomach
5.your opponent is semi paralized
6.stomach jabs do not show visible marks...so theres no proof!!!
7. always protect yourhead ( what happens when you smash to coconuts togeather)
8.punching in the stomach doesnt damage your nuccles...thus leaving 0 proof of you being the attacker
9. a massive bruise on your fore head is not very attractive
10. DO NOT TRY TO HAEDBUT SOMEONE IF YOU ARE TALLER THAN THEM!!!!!!!! BELIEVE ME

Yes, it is very effective: But, on the legal side of things...if you headbutt somebody the chances are that the guy who got butted will be injured worse than he would be capable of inflicting injuries on you. This is the problem, the justice jungle is not interested who hit first, but much more who came away worst off...you would be charged.
Hi hi, that is if you got caught! Stay away from louts!

I don't think it's an good idea for those professional combatant, though it can be a rather good idea to make a sudden strike which will work well in some circumstances.

How about a groin strike and then an eye gouge, combat is combat, anything goes.

I suppose it could be but I reckon you would have a horrible headache if you do that, maybe lifting your knee right to were it would really hurt them might be a bit easier and less painful for you.

As Zidan Zidane. He went for the chest and was provoked. They should both have been sent off.

yes, it's a great idea. your skull bone is one of the hardest bones in your body, plus it's curved in a dome shape, which also increases it's strength, not to mention its weight. the key is not to butt another head head on. you want to hit them in the nose or chest.
