I mean The Evil Doctor Podiatrist or The Vengeful Popcan Man just doesn't strike terror into my heart.

I would say bullies, definetely have the edge on going villainous, not so certain about the nerds.

Plenty of heroic nerds out there. Reed Richards, Hank Pym, Henry McCoy, Forge, Tony Stark (okay, he's a handsome playboy, but he still is a supergeek), and more that just aren't coming to mind right now.

Actually yeah...Look at Dr.Doom. He was a big a ned as Reed Richards or Tony Stark yet he was one of the worst villains the FF ever faced. and then of course the was this guy that tried Unsuccessfully to fight the avengers before becoming one of theri support team, one FabianStankowitz. Built two or three different suits of armor not to mention attacking several members on, of all things, The Daved Letterman Show (Avergers 239 in the mid 80's)

From DC, of course we have Lex Luthor. Originally a genious friend of Superboy, then turned evil after an accident (way, WAY back in like the 60's I think was when that story came out, althoug it could have been earlier). Even now Luthor is still a genius and still evil.

Both geniuses, both "nerds" and both patently evil.

You would be surprised of type of dark side a nerd has when he/she is pushed too far. These are people that picked on just because they're different to other people and not liked by the status quo. FYI: The term 'nerd' is such an outdated word I'm surprised anyone would use it.

A bully becoming a super villain is just too much of a cliche whereas a 'nerd' becoming one is a character you'd understand why he/she became a super villain.

I guess if a podiatrist suddenly discovered he had super powers he wouldn't necessary start a reign of evil terror. He's got too many other concerns to invest the countless hours it takes to plot mischief and world domination. Podiatrists don't even get the weekends off.

I think nerds are more likely to be team leaders (Charles Xavier) and the bullies (Wolverine) would just be in a team. Whether that team is good or bad is a matter of choice.

Nerds become rich in their years and bullies become jail mates normally.

nerds go villain, because they get tired of being picked on and with their four digit IQ they can create killer rabbits, squirrels, hamsters, other rodents, etc...
