I would secure them in spaces bags inside a plastic storage box if you're concerned. If you live where it's humid, you may want to consider that gel stuff that absorbs moisture, too.
Make very sure you close the seals well.

Midlew happens when theres no air circulating, make sure the storage units are not totally sealed if you live in an area prone to lots of rain and humidity
Also pack loosely, its better to have half empty boxes then jam packed tight
put bay leaves in between the layers, this helps keep moths etc away.
But most importantly discuss ur concerns with the storage unit,

Moth Balls will not allow any critter to exist, however, the critters' eggs, larve, and spores are already imbedded in your clothes.
To kill everything, hermetically seal your treasures along with your moth balls in Space Bags, and store them in a dark place. Dry cleaning will deodorize them.

I would get those plastic bags that fit many clothing and bed articles, the ones that you suck the air out with vacume hose.

space bags! They work great, keep out mold and everything, and take up much less space...got mine at Wal-Mart, but lots of places have them

Vaccuum seal them. You know, you put them in plastic bags and then suck the air out of the bags and then seal them.
