In the credits it says (story by: George Lucas) I think that means George did not write it the screenplay and the other writer Leigh Bracket died during writing the first draft of the script. So who fully wrote the script of this film? Did I forget one writer?

George Lucas created the overall saga from Episode one to six--which inculdes "The Empire Strikes Back". Leigh Bracket began work on the screenplay and died; Lawrence Kasadan was brought in to finish.

During the Academy Awards, both shared honors--which was dedicated to the memory of Leigh Bracket.
