In my political science class we are looking at petitions and we need to draw up a real life-like petition w/ a real issue. So, we came upon the fact of the polluted water around MO. There is the EPA, the water utilities companies, and there are people. Who should be responsible for cleaning up the water after the contaminants have run off and before the water company chlorinates it?

The water company is responsible for the cleaning of the water in the community. File a petition against the company citing violations and effects of polluted water.

If you have factories that are dumping water that is highly contaminated into the water supply they should be filtering it and decontaminating it. If they don't the EPA is called in and they are fined and shut down until a water filtration system is installed. And then the state can sue the company for compensation of the state parks and forestry departments for clean up expenses and restocking of wild fish if needed. If contaminated waters are at highly toxic levels it can kill all forms of life in an ecosystem and can take years to restore the ecosystem.

Your pol sci class needs to get a grip on real reality. Rather that an imagimary environmental problem, try something real,, like ''Who do we sue to stop insane environ-mental whacko's from destroying all the natural aspects of nature in thier attempts to 'clean' the environment.?", or "How do we get all those sociopatic politicians who have no clue what they are doing out of the way of conservative conservationists who know what to do for the environment?" or ''How do we get a vote of 'no confidence' against that bunch of fools who are impeeding President George W Bush's fight against terrorism by leaking sensitive and secret information?'' Man! liberal lunatics..;. so sad
