If you are going to be in a place the hoop skirt will be a hassle then wear the poodle skirt. If the hoop wont cause hassle wear the renaissance costume as it sounds great. The idea is to have a fun time. What are you more likely to have fun wearing?

I like the renaissance costume!
Tip: if you have to carry the hoop skirt & gown to keep it from dragging, you'll want to hem it (or wear low heels) so that it hangs about 1" off the ground. It's actually much easier to walk in long skirts with a hoop, it keeps the skirts from wrapping around your legs, and unless you're going up stairs, you don't have to pick up the skirt/hoops to walk. Whatever you do, avoid showing your ankles! :-) I wear low boots with about 1 1/2" heels to Faire; it keeps my skirts more out of the frequent mud.
Once you get the gown, and get it fitted to you, you may want to attach hooks-and-eyes to the bottom inside of the bodice, and the top of the skirt, so that your bodice won't ride up, your skirt down, and now there's a gap. Plus, a velvet skirt will be heavy, and attaching it to the snug, boned bodice will help distribute the weight.
Normally, with a noble gown, there is a corset ("pair of bodies"), that the hoops get laced to; then the underskirt over the hoops, then the bodice with attached (or hooked on) split-front overskirt goes ontop. That way, everything stays in place, and it's easier to wash, and more comfortable...

Sounds more like an add to sell the renaissance costume, but it did get my attention! If I had a choice, I'd pick the queen. It's fabulous!!! I'm from the poodle skirt generation, and even then they didn't look that great. I love the queen costume. I'd wear it even though it is kind of a hassle. It's stunning!! I would love to have one. I think I'd wear it even at home...without Halloween.(smile)

If you are going to a halloween party then I would say go with the renaissance queen but if you are going trick or treating or the party you are attending is going to be crowded then I would go with the poodle skirt...it all depends on what you've got planned for that night. Plan for the evening! Have fun and good luck!

If you are just passing out candy, wear the poodle skirt. If you are going to a larger event, wear the queen costume. Especially if there are guys there. It is super sexy.

Poodle skirt. Easier to move around in. Trust me, on Halloween, you don't wanna be tripping over brocade and velvet, and if you have a hoop underneath, it'll just be harder to move around.

I think you should go for comfort. Wear the poodle skirt, hair in a high ponytail with a big pink bow, a cardigan or retro blouse, ankle-length white socks, and Candies or Keds basic white or pink tennis shoes.
