No, when my hubby and i got married, the money issues got worse because it went from bieng your own personal business with sepparate accounts, to now being OUR money, so where's it going, why, how much, how little, etc. Before I got married, I paid my bills, afforded gas, was able to do retail therapy and still save up. Now my husband thinks I'm gonna spend us into hell, even though we have A LOT saved up, thanks to me. We just go over the bills, find out where we spend to much and then come to an agreement where to stop, and when it is okay to splurg sometimes. We found out fast that yelling and blaming gets us no where, and calm communication and compromise works a lot better. Both parties spend, not just one, so we both tell each other where we believe the other spends to much and find a way to limit it. My hubby would buy snacks from the PX (military store) like 3x a day at $2 a pop, where I would buy purses, shoes, accessories and such. So, WE work out how much WE could have saved if WE didn't spend so much on these things. WE really did start saving more and spending less. Plus it helps to get out in the air that both parties are guilty, fess up and work it out.

I never had any money issues UNTIL i got married. Even though we both work and make good money but he's a finance guy and everything is measured in terms of money whether it's $1 or $1000.

Was that a trick question?

I’m sure there are some people who thought that once they got married, their money issues would go away !
Most of us though, live in reality !!!

No such thing sweetie, it just gets worse. Because next thing you know - the jerk is insisting he's entitled to his own personal money account because he works his butt off so he has $2,700 in his personal account while the family account only has $50.

No. They never go away. They just get worse. It is a fact of life you just get used to.
