No, it's not true. Unless your baby has a dairy sensitivity, there is no reason to avoid any kind of dairy. And as far as cold things you are eating, that has no effect on breastfeeding whatsoever. Eat that bowl of ice cream!

I never have done that and have never even heard that before. The only time I would avoid ice cream is if there is a milk protien allergy in your baby and getting "cow's milk" dairy is aggravating it. If your baby has done fine with you eating other dairy products, I wouldn't be concerned.

The only reason to avoid certain foods when nursing is if your baby has a reaction to them. My daughter gets gassy if I eat MSG. If your baby can't tolerate icecream, then you may not want to eat it. Other than that there's no reason not to. Enjoy!!
