If I have an empty industrial tank, how might I go about getting it filled with medical grade nitrous oxide?

1) Medical fittings are not the same as industrial fittings. See the photo accompanying the reference article.

2) What was in the tank? It is not empty unless you have pulled a 30" Hg vacuum on it.

3) Unlike O2, which is of necessity the same purity for industrial as for medical, industrial N2O can have dangerous impurities in it.

4) I'm pretty sure you need a license to practice Medicine or Dentistry to obtain medical N20. I don't know if it is prescribed for anything, but it's doubtful

Look in the phone book to see if there is a place where they can fill the tank. Most times they will just give you another tank for a price.

I'm pretty sure you have to have some sort of medical license to buy medical grade (non-sulfur added) nitrous.

Depending on where you live, you can go to a Motorsports shop...like a racing shop. Either they will do it there, or will tell you where it's available. When you do finally go and get it....make sure it does not contain SULFUR, so make sure you ask...K? Good Luck.
