It's a Male-Thing!
Men take ages to grow up and most of the time are NEVER able to express their feelings openly!

It has something to do with Relationships with Dads,Moms(Or Living with Trauma of some nature)

As well as the increased number of Present Adults that have been raised by a Single Parent with NO Family Support!

All adds to the Male pre-requisite to keep it all Bottled up inside!(NOT GOOD!)
A Good Woman and a Healthy Loving Relationship, with an added dose of Responsibility can Open the door in a Man Psych

Men are like poker players - they don't wear their hearts on their sleeves. Of course this is a generalization. Have you ever come across any good Italian poker player? Mama mia I godda fullahouse (idiot!). It has to be an American or a Brit. Brit? Now there's the perfect example of a specie who have never shed a tear in public. Stiff upper lip and all that. Germans? Plenty of emotions pouring out during Oktoberfest. Ah yes the French... mon dieu these wooshies have a monopoly on "crying"; elevated it into an artform and made it fashionable for men to cry infront of women - tres chic!!

I don't think that we should approach the problem with stereotypes. Typically, we ASSUME men not to show emotions because that wouldn't be very masculine of them. Women, on the contrary, are ASSUMED to be more passive. I believe that men do show their emotions, but they might express them differently than women. I can say that some women can be just as closed off as men. The problem is that it's difficult to trust in someone your deepest feelings because it makes you vulnerable and quite possibly empowers the person you're talking to. I personally like having security, and I express my feelings occasionally not for the feedback but just to raise my own awareness toward my emotions.

Men have always been taught not to show thier emotions because there a man. They have to be perceived as strong and not someone to show there emotions. Showing there emotions might be a sign of weekness to them. The only time you may ever see a man show emotion is during a sports game.

we are men. we are strong. we dont want to be called a girl by opening up with our feelings. so its harder for a man to be emotional.

But if he loves you, then he will be open to everything. ask and you shall recieve. talk and he will listen and respond in kind. This is only true if he truly loves you.

I my self being a young man know that lots of man are self irgoant morons.
I for one have chossen the other path of man hood, to be more caring and more direct when it comes to myself.
I know there is a man out there for you that may not show his emotions but he will be the perfect guy.
We all find the one we will marry and settle down, some sooner then others.

Because we get laughed at...and NOBODY wants to be with a man that everyone laughs at...SURE you all SAY you want a sensitive man , in touch with his feelings...but when he lets down his gaurd , and shares his feelings you lose all respect for him and laugh at him and then leave to go find yourself the "bad-boy" kind of guy who treats you like dirt , cheats on you with your best friend and then dumps you ( after he gives you a STD or knocks you up , spends all your money .....)

You cannot open up with anybody you come along. You have to first find out what kind of other person is.You have to click with him/her. You have to have the same wavelength, in thoughts and words you have to see whether you vibrate with him/her. Otherwise, you are likely to become a laughing stock. It does not pay to be glib nor does it pay to be tongue-tied and introvert.

Usually because of their upbringing - most men are taught that it is not "manly" to show the deeper emotions. Each generation continues to pass down this fear of demonstrating this softer side. So sad.
