Is it ever too late to either raise one's self up to the level at which one is meant to be or to step down from the pedestal on which one may have set his- or herself upon?

you can always raise yourself up though you always have to face the reasons that brought you down. You can always swallow your pride and step down. Or you can always stay in your best position.

"Safe from our ramparts above, they are left to encumber themselves with all the most useless booty. Our citadel can never fall to the forces of folly." ~Boethius.

By the way, thank you very much for the two points, and should you like to reward my honesty please consider awarding me the best answer! Thank you, and have a wonderful day!

It is never too late to raise one's self up to any level, anytime, but something that is "meant" to be...who says what is "meant" to be?

What station? You are what you know yourself to be even if others think otherwise.

No station ... no aristocracy ....no dukes ... no kings ... all created equal ... what a thought. This is America ... welcome.

Sadly, some still think they are still dukes. Stupid huh?
