When I take my acrylics off they are more so tender and brittle. I use OPI's Nail Envy. And I keep two coats on them at all times until my nails have grown out and are stronger (not as brittle). Your nails have been through a lot of stress. Your nails have not been able to "breathe" and every time you've had a fill in layers of your nail has been sanded off. That leaves you with very thin and brittle nails. And the weight of the acrylics are gone. If your fingers are itchy you could be allergic to the acetone used to remove them. If your cuticles become swollen, red, and or cracked see the doctor.

Keep your hands, nails and cuticles moisturized. Use rubber gloves when cleaning or washing dishes. And keep that Nail Envy Nail Strengthener on them. I personally prefer the matte finish because the clear Nail Envy comes peels off the nail.

when you rip off the acrylic, you also tear off the top layer (and sometimes more) of your natural nail. This makes them sensitive and it can be painful if you put them under hot water (among other things). I noticed that my nails were itchy whenever a breeze would hit it or after I took a shower and got hot water on them. It's because your nails are severely damaged. I would buy some nail polish that protects and strengthens your nails. Other than that, you just have to wait until they start to grow out.

Fingers Itch After Acrylic Nails

Depending on where the pain is...Is it your fingers or your nail beds? If you had your nails on for a while its common for your finger tips to be very sensitive- Which of course would attribute to the pain. I have worn acrylics and solars for years and never had "itchy fingers" So I guess I am not much help there. Sorry.

Yes, but not itchy. It took a long time for my real nails to look half way decent again.

Yes. It sucks!! It should take about 2 days and they should be back to normal. It is all in how they are taken off. If they are pulled off, it hurts a lot more than soaked off.

Could be an allergic reaction... It depends on how long this persists after the fact because you may need to consult your physician.
