I squeeze them, smell them, give it a little tap and then, squeeze them again until I have gotten my feel for a few them I pick the best.

I smell them for ripeness, shake them, bounce them off my head, squeeze them and then take two and push my face between them. After this, I leave the lady alone and go into the fruit isle.
