I've lived in a small town all my life and have just moved to the city for college. I've never been clubbing, and some people from the dorm just asked me to go this Friday.
What do I wear? (I'm female) What do I bring? If I bring my purse, where do I put it while I'm dancing?

wear something dressy but not too formal try jeans and a hot halterneck or something simmilar, take a handbag and keep it on you at all times only take what you need eg. phone and wallet and dont forget to keep your eyes on your drink at all times

I have a similar situation..only I never went clubbing until college because my dad wouldn't allow me to go! I go all the time now that I am in college ;) and I ALWAYS wear comfy shoes (lol but that's just me) because if you are going to be dancing all night you want to be comfy and not thinking about your feet hurting! Plus nobody looks at your shoes...it is normally dark lighting in a club..I've worn my cutest flip flops and it works great and looks cute too! I wear my cutest jeans too...and then usually a great tank/halter/tube top to match...I always do my hair up so I don't get too hot. And as for a purse, I usually always leave it in the trunk of my car (so nobody sees it and thinks they can break into my car). I put my ID and my money in my FRONT jeans pocket so they stay in there good! Then I don't have to worry about looking after a purse! And not to mention dancing with a purse is a pain in the butt! Just remember to have fun! Haha my friends and I also have this "method"...because sometimes random guys will come dance with you (obviously) and sometimes they are NASTY!!!! So one of my girls will grab me away and start grinding on me ;) lol It's all in good fun...hope you enjoy yourself!!!

Going "clubbing" is a term used for visiting several bars in a night. Wear something casual...like jeans. You want to attract as little attention as possible. After all you are a brand new freshman away from home...the less distractions you have...the more you will be able to concentrate on the "Big Picture" and your goals.
This is new to you so keep your eyes wide open, drink little if any(I doubt you know what your limit might be) and don't let yourself be compromised in any way.
Also, be very careful with whom you trust...make them earn it first.
...other than that...enjoy yourself .(;<}<
For now, concentrate at least 95% on your studies. Take it slow. give yourself time to get well oriented with college life. No need to be well liked or popular...with that comes less time for the objective. Make it your business to get the absolute highest grades you can posible get.
Think of the pride you would feal, and the folks back home...not to mention your chances for higher education and your resume.
I am speaking from experience...hopefully you won't mind my sharing a few tips.
There are many extracuricular activities on and around a college campus. It is also easy to get involved with the wrong crowd. Being a pure bred 100% small town girl,(I say this with pride...in no way to belittle) you may find many temptations to pull you away from your main objective. Don't let the peer pressure push you in he wrong direction. Despite the fact that you are at a learning institution...you will find it has its fair share of loosers and thoes who do not apply themselves. They would like nothing better than to have you you join their worthless group.
Enjoy the experience while you prepare yourself. It will probably be one of the most unique experience of your life...make the most of it.

Definately wear something comfy, like a good pair of jeans , but wear a bangin' top and complementary accessories! And most importantly wear ur comfiest pair of heels ever: u wanna look hot but not have to worry about blisters all night! As for a bag, a clutch with a strap to slide ur wrist thru is the one to go with (you'll have it with u all the time)! A shoulder bag is too annoying, and a plain clutch can be forgotten.

bring a light coat if you have to park far. BRING a small bag to hold necesseties: lipstick/id/cash/key
wear something comfortable
wear decent shoes
make sure you test out clothing (sit,squat,wiggle) to see if something will stay on, cover enough or that nothing will pop out
go to local teenbopper store or FOREVER 21 and buy something that you can wear (airy, not clingy/no polyester ***IT GETS HOT in their
ONE THING...befre you go to a place you haven't GONE TO BEFORE with friends.DRIVE BY and see the people int eh line. IF THE PEOPLE IN THE LINE ARE NOT ATTRACTIVE or YOUR TYPE OF CROWD then DO NOT GO IN THE CLUB. different clubs have certain themes or music for differnt nights.
check out websites to view themes, dj's, performances, layout of dancfloors, dress codes, cover fee, drink menue etc.
if you like: ask the macy's or nordstrom or forever 21 or a stylish store where you are going/ask what you should wear and what to expect.

Dress how you want but remember as soon as you walk in your like a piece of meat in a showcase.....the better you look the more attention you will attract so you have to use good judgment here....make sure its a decent club a lot of clubs are havens for drugs or predators looking to drug your drink....dont go alone ....Im not trying to scare you. Clubs are a lot of fun but it never hurts to be aware.

dress however you want - most of the girls will be dressed really risque and done up, but do whatever you want, just look nice. The first guy was right - watch your drink there are some shady folks in nightlife.
