What do you want to do with a BA in Mgt and how are you prepared to explain your 2 year resume gap.. If you position this as something to be defended, you must accept the advise of others telling you to work up from the bottom.
Focus on what you HAVE and communicating your value add, rather than what you lack.. What you focus on tends to be multiplied in actual impact. Here are some alternatives to assuming the lowest level as a beginning point.
1. Life is about choices, companies hire the person most likely to solve their business problems. You made choices for the last 2 years that they don't need to know details on, so long as you can answer honestly how you can help them solve their business problems. Use that strategy to present yourself to progressive companies that want talent before tradition. You have a degree in management.. don't give up on the full time perfect career being out there. It can be if you seek and believe its there. -- its just a matter of time.
2. Register for work at a number of LEGIT temporary or outsourcing service providers to build your managerial skills and work experience until you find the right job.. Many Fortune 500 companies do a temporary to hire situation-- that is not starting from the bottom and working your way up, it is using your mind and your skills to keep earning money, trying work environments, and getting paid until you find the job you need.

If the 2 yr gap was due to a valid reason, it maybe overlooked. The chances are u will start at the bottom of the ladder.

You can explain why you have the gap. If you were in
school, helping family members (i.e. acting as a
caregiver), or doing anything to prove you weren't just
doing nothing, potential employers may be willing to
overlook that. Volunteer work couldn't hurt either.
If you have extracurricular activities, hobbies and interests,
that take up significant chunks of your time, list them.

You don't have a gap. You were a consultant during those two years, and you wouldn't be lying, if you were Yahoo Answers or helping others at all.
