We wish to make a road trip from Seattle Wa. to Brownsville, Tx. leaving around the second week of October. The trip should last around two weeks, more or less. What site would give me the best road map to exclude bad weather areas during this trip or is it fairly clear? I tried my own searches for: Driving conditions autumn in the U.S.and such. Can you help me?
A site would help me for a follow up trip should I decide to move there later on this autumn an winter. I'd also appreciate personal comments regarding such a trip. I'll need the site again as I may determine to move to Brownsville, Tx. Thanks for your time! Really!

I would check the Federal Highway Association:
http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/trafficinfo/
You have to click into each state individually, but you can get road conditions, construction information, etc.

As far as planning the road trip, I'd suggest Rand McNally's "Road Trip Planner" It even gives you suggestions for where to stop along the way:

Have you tried AAA's Trip-Tik's? They're usually great. If you can go into a AAA office, there are usually knowledgable people.
I used to live near Brownsville. You should plan on a LOT of time to drive through Texas. Depending on the route, it could take 3-4 days even if you don't take time for sightseeing.
Try Texas (and other state) tourism offices, too. They have lots of free info.
