We have a mouse at our house and it won't go away!! We have tried the snap mouse trap but he keeps outsmarting it so is it really that important to let the trap face the wall?

Set the long side of the trap against the wall.

Wire a walnut meat to the bait pan.

Yes.. For one thing, most mice run along the walls. And secondly, the trap tends to recoil when it snaps, moving away from the mouse. Putting it against a wall keeps it in place.

Good luck with the vermin!!!

Yes, because mice run along walls. Put peanut butter on the mouse trap!

not at all, unless you are trying to snag him as he goes by. Place the trap under the kitchen sink. He will feel more secure and less cautious, use peanut butter, he can't grab it and run, which is what is happening. He is not tripping the trap on purpose and then taking the food.
