If you notice,children do not have this problem,and thats because of all the build up from deodorants and soaps through the years. What I have found to do is to scrub with a non residue soap.like coast at least twice a week and use dove deodorant.Thats worked for me.

fungal infection and some kinds of irritation. I use a crystal deordorant from the health food store because regular ones caused me to break out. one major benefit is the crystal deodorants last 5x longer so it's a lot cheaper

underarms are dark due to shaving

try scrubbing your underarms well with a pumice stone every day, while taking a shower, after applying soap. This should help reduce the darkness to an extent.

sometimes if you r on medication it could be side effect of it .... or some deodorants causes this .....try deo from clinic it won't darken the area (no perfume added ) because perfumes causes this darkness

friction makes the under arms dark

deodorant, the friction of this on your pits, is something to consider. Theirs chemical content in the deodorant too.
